In an Introduction to Chorus, students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will explore the joy of singing together as a group. Through fun, and engaging songs, children will learn how to use their singing voices, breathe properly, match pitch, and keep a steady beat. Students can build confidence in performing in front of others while developing listening skills, teamwork, and musical expression.
By the end of the class, students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to each other as a group.
In Elementary Chorus, students in grades 3 through 5 will develop their singing voices and musical skills through a variety of songs and performance experiences. Singers will learn a proper vocal technique, breath control, and how to sing in unison and harmony. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork, expression, and building confidence as performers.
Students will explore different musical styles and cultures while strengthening their ability to follow a conductor and blend their voices together. Throughout the class, they will participate in small class concerts that highlight their progress, creativity, and enthusiasm for making music together.
By the end of the class, students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to each other as a group.
There will be no classes on Monday 1/19 and Wednesday 3/4.
