RMHS DRIVER'S EDUCATION PROGRAM IS OFFERING IN PERSON CLASSROOM LESSONS AND DRIVING LESSONS. THE DRIVER'S EDUCATION SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS, 3:15pm - 5:15pm. MANDATORY PARENT CLASSES IS VIRTUAL, TUEDAY, OCTOBER 16 FROM 6:00PM - 6:30PM. ALL CLASSES WILL BE IN PERSON AT READING MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL.
COST IS $710.00. COST INCLUDES 30 CLASSROOM HOURS, 12 DRIVING HOURS AND 6 OBSERVATION HOURS.

Driver's Ed Policies
Please read the following Reading Community Education Drivers Education policies
As a student of the Reading Community Education Driver’s Education program, I agree to and understand the following rules:
• My age at the time of this registration is 15 years, 9 months or older
• Full payment is expected at the time of registration in the amount of $710
• If after the parent meeting you decide to not be part of the program you will get 100% refund, otherwise we offer a 90% refund up to two full business days before the class begins. Once the class begins we do not give a refund unless it is medically related.
• I must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction, 12 hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction, 6 hours observation and additional 40 hours of supervised road time with a parent or guardian in order to be eligible to receive a Driver Education Certificate of Completion from the RMV.
• If I miss a class for any reason, I must make-up the missed class. If I do not attend the make-up class for each and every missed class, I will be ineligible to pass the course. Two or more classes missed might be subject to a $100 penalty fee.
• Tardiness and/or early departure from any class will count as an absence.
• The instructor has the authority to drop any student from the program who is disruptive. The student will be ineligible to receive a refund.
• There will be a charge of $60 for each on road lesson that is missed without a 24 hour notice.
Fees (in addition to cost of class) paid to the RMV:
Permit Fee $30: This will be paid to the RMV the day of the permit exam
License Fee $85: This includes the road test and license fee
Driver Education Certificate $15: This will be paid when all components of the Driver Education Program are complete. Once complete, the check should be made payable to MASSDOT and sent to the Reading Community Education Office to be submitted to the RMV.
Please note: Reading Community Education is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property while in the classroom or school vehicles.
